Smart Lighting gives users better control over how and when lights operate. Instead of relying only on conventional switches, lighting can respond to occupancy, daylight, schedules, scenes and commands from keypads, mobile apps or a wider building automation system.

A good lighting automation system should feel simple to use. Everyday functions such as Welcome, Away, Meeting, Presentation, Night or All Off can combine several lighting circuits into a single scene instead of requiring users to operate multiple switches individually.
For commercial buildings, occupancy and daylight sensors can automate lighting according to how spaces are actually being used. Corridors, meeting rooms, washrooms, offices, warehouses and common areas can each follow different control strategies.
Dimming can provide more than visual comfort. Suitable dimmable luminaires and drivers allow lighting levels to change according to time, activity, daylight or predefined scenes. Driver and dimmer compatibility must be checked carefully to avoid flickering or poor low-level performance.
Depending on the project, AZTÖR can work with DALI, KNX, Zigbee, Wi-Fi and other compatible lighting-control technologies. The correct platform depends on the building size, wiring, required reliability, integration needs and whether the project is new construction or retrofit.
Smart Lighting can also form part of a wider Building Automation or Smart Home system. Compatible solutions can integrate lighting with curtains, HVAC, occupancy sensors, access control and other building functions for coordinated automation.
For retrofit projects, complete rewiring is not always necessary. Wireless or hybrid controls may provide a practical upgrade path, although the existing electrical installation, switch boxes, neutral availability, lighting loads and communication coverage should first be inspected.

Smart Lighting should be designed around the actual lighting circuits, luminaire types, LED drivers, wiring and required user experience. Dimming compatibility is particularly important because not every LED driver works correctly with every control method.
