Heat Mapping
Heat Mapping uses AI video analytics to show where people move, stop or spend more time within a monitored area. Activity is converted into an easy-to-understand visual map that highlights higher and lower traffic zones.

For retail businesses, Heat Mapping can help identify which entrances, aisles, displays and sections receive the most visitor activity. This gives management useful information for store layout, merchandising and operational planning.
Heat Mapping works differently from People Counting. People Counting measures how many people cross a defined entrance or line, while Heat Mapping focuses on movement and activity patterns within an area. The two technologies can be combined for stronger visitor analytics.
Depending on the selected camera and analytics platform, heat maps can be based on movement frequency, accumulated traffic or dwell activity. Available functions and visualisation methods vary by manufacturer and software platform.
Suitable systems can provide historical Heat Mapping reports, allowing management to compare activity across different periods and understand how visitor behaviour changes by time, day, promotion or layout.
Heat Mapping can also be combined with People Counting, Occupancy Monitoring and Queue Management to create a wider retail or business analytics solution.
The quality of analytics depends on camera position, mounting height, field of view, lighting and the layout of the monitored area. AZTÖR therefore designs the camera view around the analytics objective rather than simply installing a general CCTV camera.

Heat Mapping performance depends on camera position, mounting height, field of view, lighting, scene layout, crowd density and the analytics platform.
