Facial Recognition
Facial Recognition CCTV uses AI-based video analytics to detect faces in surveillance footage and, where legally permitted and properly configured, compare captured facial images against an authorised database.

A Facial Recognition system is different from basic face detection. Face detection identifies that a face is present in the image, while facial recognition can compare facial characteristics against enrolled profiles on a compatible platform.
System architecture can include dedicated facial-recognition cameras, AI-enabled NVRs, analytics servers or VMS software. The right architecture depends on the number of cameras, recognition points, database size and required system performance.
Camera positioning is critical. Entrance width, camera height, face angle, lighting, backlight, subject distance and image quality directly affect the quality of facial captures and matching performance.
Suitable platforms can provide authorised watchlists, allowlists, event alerts, face search and recorded-event investigation. Available functions vary significantly between manufacturers and software platforms.
Facial Recognition CCTV can also work alongside Access Control, Visitor Management and conventional CCTV where a project requires video verification or controlled identity-based workflows.
For entrances and other identification points, AZTÖR designs the camera view around capturing useful facial detail rather than simply providing general area coverage. A wide surveillance camera positioned too far from the subject may not provide suitable facial imagery.
Because facial information is biometric personal data, deployment must consider applicable UAE privacy, data-protection, security, retention and authority requirements. Facial Recognition should only be used for legitimate and appropriately authorised applications.

Facial Recognition performance depends heavily on camera position, facial image size, viewing angle, lighting, movement, image quality and the selected analytics platform. A general-purpose CCTV view should not automatically be treated as a reliable facial-recognition point. Database management, access permissions, retention and processing of biometric information must also follow applicable UAE privacy, data-protection and project requirements.
