Control Panels

Control Panels

The control panel is the decision-making centre of an automatic gate system. While the motor physically moves the gate, the control board manages how and when that movement takes place, receiving commands from remotes, access-control devices and safety equipment and controlling the operator according to its programmed logic.

AZTÖR installs, programs, repairs and replaces control panels for automatic sliding gates, swing gates, cantilever gates, folding and bi-folding gates, trackless gates, heavy-duty gates and other compatible vehicle entrance systems.

A gate control board should be matched to the operator rather than selected as a generic electrical replacement. Motor type, operating voltage, single or double gate configuration, limit system, encoder, safety inputs, accessories and manufacturer-specific communication can all affect compatibility.

For sliding gates, the control panel can manage functions such as opening and closing commands, travel limits, automatic closing, pedestrian opening, obstacle response, photocells, safety edges, flashing lights and access-control inputs according to the capabilities of the selected automation.

Double swing gates require additional coordination. A compatible control panel can manage the sequence and timing between two gate leaves, including opening and closing delay where required so that the leaves operate in the correct order.

AZTÖR provides a free site inspection for applicable gate-control problems. Before replacing a control board, we check the power supply, protective devices, motor, wiring, accessories, photocells, limit switches or encoder, receiver and connected access-control equipment to identify whether the board itself is actually responsible for the fault.

This diagnosis matters because a control-panel fault can easily be confused with another gate problem. A gate that refuses to close, opens unexpectedly, stops midway or ignores a remote command may be reacting to a safety input, limit fault, motor problem, damaged cable or incorrect programming rather than a failed control board.

AZTÖR works with automation and control systems from established manufacturers including FAAC, CAME, BFT, Nice and Benincà, together with other technically suitable gate automation brands used throughout the UAE and GCC.

Where the original control board is still supported, component-level or board repair may be considered where technically practical. For obsolete, extensively damaged or unreliable boards, replacement with an appropriate original or manufacturer-compatible control solution is generally preferable.

Older gate automation can sometimes be modernised without replacing the complete gate. Depending on compatibility, AZTÖR can upgrade the control system, radio receiver, safety devices and access interfaces while retaining a mechanically sound operator or gate. In other cases, an obsolete motor and controller may be better replaced together.

Modern gate controllers can support considerably more than basic open and close commands. Depending on the selected model, functions may include adjustable speeds, soft start and stop, automatic closing, partial opening, programmable inputs and outputs, obstacle detection, encoder management, diagnostic indicators and gate-status outputs.

Control panels also provide the connection point for many external devices. Compatible remote receivers, GSM controllers, keypads, card readers, biometric readers, intercoms, UHF vehicle readers, ANPR systems and guard-house controls can send authorised commands to the gate through suitable controller inputs.

Safety accessories such as photocells and safety edges must be connected and programmed correctly. Bypassing a safety input simply because the gate will not operate can remove an intended protective function. AZTÖR diagnoses the cause of the fault and restores the correct safety logic wherever technically possible.

Outdoor control panels in UAE conditions also require appropriate protection from heat, dust, moisture and direct environmental exposure. Enclosures, cable entries, ventilation requirements and equipment positioning are considered according to the selected manufacturer's requirements and installation environment.

AZTÖR provides gate control panel installation, programming, repair, replacement and preventive maintenance across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain, with suitable gate automation support available across the wider GCC.

Gate control panels are not universally interchangeable. Motor voltage and technology, operator type, single or double gate configuration, limits, encoders, safety devices and manufacturer-specific functions must all be checked before replacing a controller. AZTÖR diagnoses the existing automation during a free site inspection where required and confirms whether repair, direct replacement or a control-system upgrade is the most appropriate solution.

Yes. AZTÖR provides a free site inspection for applicable gate automation faults to check the controller, motor, power supply, wiring, safety devices and connected accessories.

AZTÖR works with gate automation systems from manufacturers including FAAC, CAME, BFT, Nice and Benincà, together with other technically suitable brands used in the UAE and GCC.

Some control-board faults can be repaired where technically practical and reliable. The board must first be diagnosed to determine whether repair or replacement is the better solution.

Yes, where a suitable controller is compatible with the existing motor, limits, encoder, safety equipment and other components.

No. Gate controllers are not universally interchangeable. Motor type, voltage, feedback system, limits and manufacturer-specific functions must be compatible.

Yes. Where the original board is discontinued, AZTÖR can investigate a suitable current replacement or modernisation solution. In some cases additional components or the operator may also require upgrading.

Not necessarily. If the operator remains mechanically and electrically suitable and a compatible controller is available, only the control system may need repair or replacement.

A photocell or other safety input, controller setting, limit fault, wiring problem or control-board issue can prevent closing. The complete system should be diagnosed before replacing parts.

Possible causes include limit or encoder faults, obstacle detection, motor overload, mechanical resistance, incorrect controller settings, wiring problems or control-board faults.

Unwanted commands can originate from a remote receiver, access-control input, damaged wiring, stuck push button, controller fault or another connected device. The source should be diagnosed systematically.

Possible causes include an upstream electrical supply problem, protective-device operation, transformer or power-supply failure, damaged wiring or a fault within the controller.

Yes. Suitable dual-motor controllers are specifically designed to coordinate two swing gate operators.

Compatible controllers can provide leaf delay or sequencing so one gate leaf starts before the other where required by the gate arrangement.

Many controllers provide programmable automatic closing. The feature should be configured together with appropriate safety devices and the site's operating requirements.

Many compatible gate controllers provide a pedestrian or partial-opening command, although availability depends on the selected operator and controller.

Yes. Compatible photocells connect to designated safety inputs and must be correctly configured for the intended gate response.

Suitable control panels can support safety edges directly or through an appropriate interface depending on the selected automation.

Many gate controllers provide a dedicated or configurable output for a compatible flashing light. Voltage and operating logic must match the selected accessory.

Usually, yes, where the controller provides a suitable command input and the GSM unit has a compatible relay output.

Yes. A compatible intercom can normally provide an authorised gate-opening command through a suitable controller input.

Yes. Compatible card readers, biometric systems and access-control controllers can provide authorised commands to the gate automation.

Yes. A UHF access system can communicate with the gate controller through an appropriate access-control interface.

Yes. Compatible ANPR and access-control systems can provide authorised gate-opening commands according to the project design.

Possibly. It depends on whether the existing radio receiver can be retained or whether the new controller supports the same radio technology. Otherwise, a compatible external receiver or new remotes may be required.

The replacement controller must be commissioned and programmed for the actual gate, including travel, timing, safety inputs, operating logic and accessories.

Permanently bypassing an intended safety device can remove an important protective function. The photocell, wiring, programming and control input should be diagnosed and repaired instead.

Yes. Water ingress, condensation and unsuitable cable entries can damage electronic components. Outdoor control equipment should be housed and installed appropriately for its environment.

Electronic equipment has manufacturer-defined operating limits. Enclosure location, direct solar exposure, ventilation and the selected product's environmental specifications should therefore be considered.

Yes. AZTÖR can diagnose suitable third-party gate automation systems subject to equipment condition, technical compatibility and spare-part availability.

Yes. Preventive maintenance can include control panels, wiring, settings, motors, photocells, safety devices, receivers and related gate automation components according to the agreed scope.
