Sliding Gates
Sliding gates provide secure vehicle access without requiring the large inward or outward opening area needed by swing gates. The gate leaf travels horizontally along the boundary, making this configuration particularly practical for properties where driveway depth is limited or where vehicle movement needs to remain clear.
Across the UAE, sliding gates are widely used at villas, residential communities, warehouses, factories, logistics facilities, commercial compounds, staff accommodation and controlled vehicle entrances. Systems can be designed for new developments or existing entrances that require replacement, automation or upgrading.
The gate itself must be mechanically sound before automation is considered. AZTÖR's free site inspection checks the clear opening, gate dimensions and estimated weight, construction, track or cantilever arrangement, available run-back space, ground level, structural supports, expected operating frequency, wind exposure and power availability.
Tracked sliding gates run on wheels along a properly installed ground track and are a common solution for level entrances. Cantilever sliding gates operate without a track across the driveway opening and can be useful where a ground track would be impractical. The appropriate arrangement depends on the entrance, gate weight, supporting structure and site conditions.
For automatic operation, the motor is selected according to much more than gate width alone. Gate weight, daily cycle frequency, mechanical resistance, wind loading, required opening speed and operating environment all influence motor selection. A correctly sized operator should move a properly balanced gate rather than compensate for a gate that is difficult to move mechanically.
AZTÖR works with established gate automation manufacturers such as FAAC, CAME, BFT, Nice, Benincà and other suitable brands available for UAE and GCC projects. Depending on the requirement, operators can be selected for residential, commercial or heavier-duty industrial applications.
Automatic sliding gates can be controlled through remote transmitters, keypads, card readers, biometric systems, intercoms, GSM or authorised smart-access systems. For vehicle facilities, compatible solutions can also integrate with UHF readers, ANPR systems, loop detectors and other controlled-access technologies.
Safety should be designed into the complete gate rather than added after installation. Depending on the entrance, safety photocells, edges, obstacle detection, warning lights, emergency release and other protective devices can be incorporated to reduce risks around the moving gate.
AZTÖR also repairs and modernises existing sliding gates. Common problems include damaged motors, worn pinions or racks, control-board faults, photocell problems, damaged tracks, worn wheels, poor alignment, remote-control issues and gates that have become mechanically difficult to move.
AZTÖR provides sliding gate supply, automation, installation, repair and preventive maintenance across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain, with suitable gate automation project support available across the wider GCC.

Sliding gate motors must be selected according to actual gate weight, construction, mechanical condition, daily operating frequency, wind exposure and site environment. AZTÖR confirms the motor, rack, control board and required safety devices after a free site inspection. Existing gates must move correctly by hand before automation is used to provide reliable powered operation.
